Here's a fact...
The white-tailed deer is Alberta's most abundant cloven-hoofed animal. It's coloration changes from reddish-brown in summer to greyish brown in winter. White-tailed deer are slightly smaller than mule deer. Bucks average 90 kg (200 lb.), and does weigh about 60 kg (130 lb.). In Boon and Crockett third edition of Club's Record of Whitetail, they list the top ten typical and non typical ever taken. Alberta is home to three of these bucks. No other province or state has more deer on the list. |
